Arun rural municipality honours 104 people

Bhojpur (Nepal) August 13: Arun Rural Municipality in the eastern hilly Bhojpur district has honoured 104 of its denizens who are either elderly, with a disability, or without support.
The locals who do not have access to various government allowances were honoured during a programme, said chairperson of the rural municipality Gajendra Bahadur Karki.
The rural municipality feted them with Rs 6,000 (Rs 500*12 months) and a special lunch.
"It is our small attempt to promote equality and support those who are in need," added chairperson Karki.
Moreover, they will also be provided with a monthly allowance of Rs 500.
